We DO NOT require premieres. At Manhattan Short, we believe short films are made to be seen, they should be viewed by as many people as possible. In our opinion, Film festivals that require a short film to be a premiere screening are doing the short film community a disservice. Short films still need to be actively promoted to raise awareness of the genre. Rules that restrict the distribution of short films are counter-productive.
If your film is represented by the French Based Distribution Company MIYU your film is not eligible to enter this Film Festival. We will not work with that company.Selected films will be asked to submit their films as a ProRes Quicktime file. Frame rate of (23.98) Sound in Stereo not 5.1.
Finalists are announced on August 20 each year.
